It's March, the sun is shining and the wind isn't blowing too bad, so it must be time to get the bike out for a run to Moab!
Mary had been in Moab most of the week working so Keith left Price with the bike and her gear on Friday morning. We met at LaHacienda (good Mexican food) for lunch then to the hotel so Mary could pull on her boots, riding jacket and both were off to see Arches National Park on the bike.
We drove through the park and then made a few stops on the way back out. It was really warm, so the frequent stops, peeling out of the gear, walking to a scenic lookout then redressing got really old really fast. We decided after the fourth stop that we were both wanting some open road, so we left the park and headed south to LaSal Junction then over the top of the mountain to Naturita, CO.

The road was perfect and the scenery was fabulous! At the summit there was still snow on the road side but we were able to keep going. By the time we rolled into Naturita, we had to decide if we were going on to Dove Creek-Monticello-Moab or to turn around and go back the way we came. We chose to backtrack the way we came. We were both glad we did! Seeing the canyon from both directions was well worth the drive!
We rolled back into Moab just in time for dinner. What a great day!

The next day started with an early breakfast at the Moab Diner (Hans Flat Breakfast - the best in town!) and back on the bike. Keith had to chuckle as people would walk past and oogle his GoldWing. Yup, life is good! We left Moab and followed the Colorado River through the canyon. We stopped to stretch by the old railroad town of Cisco. The canyon was so beautiful with the red rock and the new leaves of the trees starting to come out. It was a perfect ride!

On our way home, we stopped in Green River for a burger and fries at Ray's! Good food, good times with the folks at Ray's!!
It was a great weekend ride and we made it home just as the wind started blowing! Margarita Time!!
